Hi, I am Dr. M. Foumani.

I am a board-certified plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgeon with a passion for restoring form and function. My expertise lies in reconstructive surgery. 

My journey began with a fascination for the human body, leading me to pursue extensive research and clinical training. I completed my medical degree at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and my PhD at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on the biomechanics of the human body. I further honed my surgical skills through a residency in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery at the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam and a fellowship in reconstructive and breast surgery at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek-Dutch Cancer Institute.

Currently, I practice at the Martini Hospital in Groningen, where I provide comprehensive care to patients requiring reconstructive surgery. I am a dedicated member of the Academic Breast Center in Groningen, specializing in advanced breast reconstruction techniques that help patients regain their confidence and quality of life. Driven by a desire to provide clear and accessible information to my patients, I created a dedicated website focusing on breast reconstruction. This resource was born out of a personal frustration with the lack of readily available, well-described, and visually informative resources for patients considering this procedure - a frustration I witnessed firsthand when my own mother struggled to find comprehensive information after her breast cancer diagnosis.
