For individuals navigating life after breast cancer, breast reconstruction is often a vital step toward physical and emotional recovery. It's about reclaiming a sense of wholeness and moving forward with renewed confidence. Currently, I am collaborating with the Technical University of Delft to develop innovative new techniques for breast. My research focuses on creating devices that provide more natural and long-lasting results reduce surgical complexity, minimize complications, improve patient comfort, and allow for more personalized outcomes. Our goal is to revolutionize the options available to patients, leading to better outcomes and quality of life. However, groundbreaking research like this faces a significant hurdle: government funding in this specialized area is incredibly challenging and competitive, as traditional funding avenues often prioritize broader cancer treatments.
