Where can I watch 3D animations of breast reconstruction?

You can watch free 3D animations of breast reconstruction techniques on this page. Each video shows a different procedure — DIEP flap, implant reconstruction, LD flap, oncoplastic surgery, lipofilling, and more — explained by Dr. Foumani. The animations are also available on the Breast Reconstruction Explained YouTube channel.

Are these breast reconstruction videos free?

Yes. All 3D animations on this page are free to watch. No registration, account, or payment is required. The videos are part of an open educational platform based on the book Breast Reconstruction Explained.

Which procedures are explained with 3D animation?

The video library covers DIEP flap, latissimus dorsi (LD) flap, gluteal flap, thigh flap, implant-based reconstruction with tissue expander, Goldilocks reconstruction, oncoplastic surgery, batwing procedure, LICAP and AICAP flaps, lipofilling, nipple reconstruction, and the different mastectomy types.

Are the animations suitable for patients or for surgeons?

Both. The animations were designed to be understandable for patients without medical training, while remaining accurate enough for healthcare professionals to use during patient consultations.

How long are the animations?

Most animations are between two and four minutes. They are short on purpose: long enough to show every step of the procedure, short enough to watch in a single sitting before a consultation.

Can I share these videos with my doctor or family?

Yes. You can share the page link or the individual video links freely. Many patients send the relevant animation to family members or bring it up during a consultation with their plastic surgeon.
